Studying History at Bonn
Courses are announced in the "Kommentierte Vorlesungsverzeichnis"
(basis). There, you will find brief descriptions of the courses and
information concerning registration, requirements for participation etc.
Courses are usually held in German; a certain knowledge of the German
language is therefore necessary. You will find information on German
courses offered at Bonn here.
Furthermore, knowledge of additional languages may be a requirement for
some courses. For lectures you usually do not have to register in
advance.
Duration of the Semester
The
winter semester starts on October 1, the summer semester on April 1.
Lectures and courses will start approximately 1-2 weeks later and end in
February and July respectively. You will find the exact dates for
lectures and for the semester breaks here.
During the semester break no lectures and courses take place. However,
there may be exams during the break. Please contact your professor or
tutor for further information on that.
